Dennis Szymborski

ROCK HILL -- Dennis Daniel Szymborski, 68, of 1812 Ginger Cake Circle, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at his home.

The funeral was May 19, 2008, at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted A. Tinker and the Rev. Dennis Ayers officiating. Burial was at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A resident of Rock Hill, Dennis Szymborski was a son of the late Joseph Szymborski and Wanda Urbanski Szymborski. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and retired as a staff sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Brown Szymborski of Rock Hill; his son, Arthur "Art" Szymborski of McConnells; his daughter, Tricia Campbell of York; two sisters, Carol Patrick and Pat Gillespie, both of New Jersey; and two grandchildren, A.J. Szymborski and Jessica Szymborski.

Bratton Funeral Home in York served the Szymborski family.

Gene Wise

ROCK HILL -- William Eugene "Gene" Wise, 69, of Aziza Road, died May 15, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

The funeral was held May 17, 2008, at Eastview Baptist Church. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

Eula Childers

CLOVER -- Eula Brandon Childers, 91, of 1009 Third St. died Friday, May 16, 2008, at her home in Clover.

The funeral was held May 18, 2008, at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev David J. Stanford officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Eula Childers was a daughter of the late Wister and Stacey Hardin Brandon. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hickory Grove, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce C. and Homer Moses of Clover, Beverly Thackston of Clover, Paulette Dunbar of Clover, Robbie and Mike Huffstetler of Pittsboro, N.C., and Cathy and Rick Wingler of Kannapolis, N.C.; two sons and daughter-in-law, John Childers of Evans, Ga., and Randy and Sandra Childers of Clover; a sister, Betty Pannell of Dallas, N.C.; two daughters-in-law, Sally Childers and Juanita Childers, both of Clover; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Childers; two sons, David Childers and Marvin Childers; and daughter Margaret Childers.

Pallbearers were Robert Childers, Brandon Childers, Justin Childers, Paul Childers, Randy Childers Jr, and Daniel Moss.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Clover, 117 S. Main Street, Clover, SC 29745.

Joe Huffstetler

YORK -- Joseph "Jo" Marvin Huffstetler, 59, of 1088 Turkey Creek Ridge Road, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A memorial service was held May 20, 2008, at Sanctuary Hills Church of God of Prophecy in York, with the Rev. Ted Tinkler officiating.

Gerald Clinton

ROCK HILL -- Mr. Gerald F. Clinton of Rock Hill died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

He is survived by a sister, Gayle McCarter; his daughters, Mindy Curtis, Sammie Shepherd and Melissa Vaughn; and a son, Michael Wood.

The memorial service was private. M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover, is serving the Clinton family.
